WORKSHOP ON INFECTIOUS DISEASES, AUGUST 2009

Under the DelPHE Vietnam 1.88 project funded by the UK Dept. for International Development (DFID), The Key Laboratory of Enzyme and Protein Technology and Royal Holloway University of London, National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, VaBioTech Company co-organised the workshop on Infectious Diseases, from 10 to 14 August 2009, at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.

 

Under the DelPHE Vietnam 1.88 project funded by the UK Dept. for International Development (DFID), The Key Laboratory of Enzyme and Protein Technology and Royal Holloway University of London, National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, VaBioTech Company co-organised the workshop on Infectious Diseases, from 10 to 14 August 2009, at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. The most updated information of emerging infectious diseases, new strategies for vaccine development, and application of nanobiotechnology in diagnostics were fruitfully delivered and discussed.

The workshop speakers included professors, scientists from research institutions, universities, vaccine and kit production companies, international vaccine quality control centers such as: Dr. Inca Kusters (Director of External R & D, Sanofi-Pasteur, France), Prof. Thomas Hanke (Oxford University, UK), Dr. Jan Poolman (Director of bacterial vaccine, Glaxo SmithKline, Belgium), Prof. Ricacardo Manganelli (Pavoda University, Italy), Dr. John D. Clemems (Director of international Vaccine Center, South), Prof. Ian Henderson (Birmingham University, UK), Prof. Simon Cutting (Holloway University of London, UK), Dr. Ole Olesen (Research Director of Infectious Disease Unit, European Comission), Prof. Alain Brisson (Bordeaux University, France) and some scientists from institutions, universities of Vietnam.

The workshop attracted more than 100 participants from different institutions, hospitals and universities in Vietnam.
